The Landes department (Las Lanas in Gascon) is a department forming part of the South-West of France, geographically falling within the “Midi Atlantic”. The department was created during the French Revolution on Mars 4, 1790 in application of the law of December 22, 1789, from part of the province of Guyenne and Gascogne. More precisely, various territorial entities inherited from the Ancien Régime were then brought together, which gives this administrative territory a certain heterogeneity between the agricultural Chalosse, more oriented towards Béarn, and the forest closer to the Gironde. Main towns: Mont-de-Marsan, Dax, Biscarosse, Saint-Paul-lès-Dax, Tarnos, Capbreton, Soustons, Mimizan ...Loir-et-Cher is a French department located in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Its name comes from two rivers crossing it, the Loir to the north and the Cher to the south. Its prefecture is Blois. Under the Revolution, the birth of the department of Loir-et-Cher was laborious and difficult. In its report of September 29, 1789, the Constitution Committee had planned to assign one of the 80 departments to the city of Blois. But the pretensions of neighboring towns are revealed, first and foremost the general capitals: Tours and Orléans. Within the department itself, Montrichard turned towards Amboise and Tours, Saint-Aignan wanted to attach itself to Berry and Salbris to Vierzon. Finally, Orléans abandoned a large part of Sologne to Blois while retaining Beaugency while Tours refused to cede Amboise. The department was created on Mars 4, 1790 in application of the law of December 22, 1789, from part of the former provinces of Orléanais and Touraine as well as a plot of Berry (left bank of the Cher de Selles in Berry which became Selles-sur-Cher in Saint-Aignan). These vicissitudes explain the strangulation of the department in its middle and the maximum stretching of its surface beyond the Loir to the north and the Cher to the south. Main cities: Blois, Vendôme, Romorantin-Lanthenay...Professional in the sale (and passionate) of historical and geographical engravings, I will ship your purchase with the greatest care as I myself would like to receive it.
