Description: A beautifully proportioned cover commemorating the last day of service of the Railway Post Office Car Exhibit at the 1939-1940 New York World's Fair. Postmark matches date in the cachet, which illustrates the train car with the iconic Trylon and Perisphere in the background. Typical and very minor corner "ding" (lower LH corner, not easily seen in the scan), and darkened gum along the back flaps which shows through the front. Cover will be shipped with a white, acid-free paper insert which masks the show-through. All in all, a very nice cover with a great cachet! Shipping includes tracking and insurance. Questions? Don't hesitate to ask. Please see my other auctions for postal history, revenue stamped checks and documents (my specialty), revenue & taxpaid stamps, and much more!
