Description: The “Iberian Rider” Francisco Franco Bahamonde (1892–1975) was a Spanish general who ruled over Spain as a dictator for 36 years from 1939 until his death. Franco proclaimed himself Head of State and Government under the title El Caudillo, a term similar to Il Duce (Italian) for Benito Mussolini and Der Führer (German) for Adolf Hitler. He restored the monarchy before his death, which made King Juan Carlos I his successor, who led the Spanish transition to democracy. After a referendum, a new constitution was adopted, which transformed Spain into a parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarchy. This Coin and All “ Foreign” / “World” Coinage you find in my store that are in holders/flips are all from the same lot; catalogued and stored in a humidity controlled environment since the 1970s & 1980s; and have not been opened since.
