Description: This listing is for a POPEYE JACK IN THE BOX made by Mattel in 1957. One of the most desirable of the Mattel music boxes, it is made of tin and has a tin spinach can inside which holds Popeye! Great graphics all around, including a comic strip in back of the box. The 66 year old toy is in very good condition overall. There is crazing to the blue border around the top and a scratch on the lid (see last photo), but the music box still looks great with the often missing pipe. It continues to play music with Popeye coming out at the end of the song. A very nice example of a scarce toy. Hard to find complete and working! On consignment.
