Description: This listing is for a very rare unused index card signed by 1962 New York Mets Pitcher Herb Moford. Moford appeared in a total 7 games for the 1962 Mets finishing the season and his MLB playing career with the team going 0-1, giving up 21 hits and 12 earned runs in just 15 innings pitched. Moford is considered the one of toughest of all 1962 Mets players for autographs as his time in Queens was so short, though he did appear at a number of reunion events until his passing in 2005. Moford was sent to the Mets by the Orioles, who he never actually played for, on December 2, 1961 as part of conditional deal and subsequently returned to the Orioles on May 6, 1962 as part of the same deal, essentially ending his MLB career. He struggled with the Orioles AAA team in Rochester in 1963 appearing in just 2 more professional games and then retired. The index card is signed in black point pen. The reverse features a written Through The Mail autograph request from fan Tony Matz. Moford's autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA as genuine and the COA sticker is affixed (please see scans). The image of Moford is a stock photo and is not included in this listing. A MUST for hardcore Mets fans and collectors of rare MLB autographs. Would make a great gift for the autograph hound on your list. Moford autographs become more rare every day as most have dried up into private collections. Winning bidder will received this exact Herb Moford signed index card safely packed and shipped by insured USPS. Please ask any questions before bidding. All questions welcome and answered. Additional photos available upon request. U.S. bidders ONLY.
