There badges were patterned after the dolphins in the "TRITON" award and dedicated to the USS TRITON SSN-586. A U.S. Navy Submarine that had two separate nuclear reactors and drive trains, including two screws. It is SOLID BACK with 'SSN-586" on the back. This badge was made by Vanguard. The same company that makes the majority of U.S. Military badges & insignia. It has two clutch post pins for attachment on the back.
