Description: First let me say I am a longtime experienced seller of vintage Barbie. I have been on eBay since 2005, and I have a great seller reputation. I strive to provide every detail that I can to support your buying decision. I want you to be happy with your purchase and I want a successful sale. A win-win for both of us. That being said there are details about a listing that I may not think to mention - so please ask questions. I imagine if you are looking to purchase a #1 Barbie that you know something about the line -- assuming this I won't provide details like "the foot is marked with Japan". That is a given - but if you need to know something, by all means, ask. Unless an item is in the original packaging, I rarely use the word "mint". Excellent however, I use often. That is to mean no stains, no tears, no odors, nothing missing or not faded. Below you will see every item included, with a detailed description: BLOND #1 BARBIE: T.M. Gay Parisienne 2-piece box: generally, very good condition. BOX TOP: some taped separation at 3 of the 4 corners. Each end of the box top has some wear to the graphic paper. This box top does show that it was for a BLOND Barbie, but the "BL" is missing as part of the wear to the graphic paper. There is not any significant soiling to the box top therefore does not look dingy. BOX BOTTOM: interior has some tape marks and minor surface wear. There is also some mending to the corner seams - very well done. There is a 3/4-inch stain on the box bottom exterior - appears to be melted crayon. #1 Black open toe shoes. One shoe marked Japan, one not, as is expected. Good condition. One shoe has small wear to the midline part of the arch - just a scrape. Gold hoop earrings - excellent Blue lens cat-eye sunglasses - excellent Blond #1 Barbie: overall very good condition. Soft pale blond hair with poodle bangs. I believe the ponytail retainers have been replaced. They are not rubber bands but threaded loops. Looks great but is different than the brunette detailed below. Hand-painted face as evidenced by the irises. Some wear/fading to the lip paint. Does retain some finger and nail polish. General body needs a wipe-down to clean away smudges and dust etc. No stains on the feet. Both brass tubes present. Swimsuit is good. BRUNETTE #1 BARBIE: T.M. Gay Parisienne 2-piece box: generally, excellent condition. BOX TOP: very clean, not dingy and NO separation to any of the corner seems. AMAZING condition BOX BOTTOM: AMAZING condition. No seam separations - very clean. The only thing to mention here is scuffing to the bottom from shelf storage. #1 Black open toe shoes. One shoe marked Japan, one not, as is expected. EXCELLENT condition. Gold hoop earrings - excellent Blue lens cat-eye sunglasses - excellent #1 TM Pink booklet with single Barbie on front. Excellent condition. The TM is very clear. Interior contains Roman Holiday, Easter Parade and Gay Parisienne. Back cover has some old cellophane tape marks. #1 TM round prong stand. Great condition. Structurally sound. Some minor spotting to the surface sheen due to age. This doll - wow! Soft dark brunette hair with poodle bangs. This set appears slightly different from the blonde in that it has a rubber band at the bottom of the ponytail. This doll is very very clean with only a few faint areas that might need a gentle wipe -- although I personally wouldn't, it's just that clean. She does have one dot on the back of her leg - looks like a manufacturing thing to me. The feet are stained from decades of wearing shoes. The face is immaculate. Brushed eyebrows, asymmetrical irises which implies hand painted, and one rose colored nostril dot -- she does still retain some blushing. Keep in mind when these dolls were first sold, they weren't faded to ivory. This brunette doll spent much of her life inside the box so her overall face has much more color than the Blond. Finger and toenail paint still present and looks gorgeous. Matches lip paint. Swimsuit is excellent. Both brass tubes present.
