Also, the SAE dollar may have a notable contact or scratch mark from production. Seven coins, the Kennedy 50C, the five America the Beautiful Washington varieties 25C's and the Roosevelt 10C were minted by the San Francisco Mint and are composed of 90% silver. The eighth coin, the American Eagle $1, was minted by the West Point Mint and is composed of .9999 fineness silver. All varieties of 2012-S Proof Sets produced by the US Mint had extremely low mintages making this Limited Edition Silver Proof Set to be considered quantifiably scarce and consequently selling at premium prices over the original US Mint set price.
