Description: Albany Edward Howarth ARE (1872-1936) "The Tower Bridge" Original Signed Etching circa 1920’s Plate: 22.5 x 30cm. Sheet: 30.5cm x 40.5cm. Printed on pale cream wove paper. The etching is loose, not mounted , not framed. Signed in pencil lower right margin and on the left in pencil inscribed” “To Mr & Mrs Penny from”. Titled within the plate lower right. Howarth often personally inscribed and signed his etchings to friends and buyers A fine confident etching capturing both the architectural beauty of Tower Bridge and the intense activity on the River Thames with stream tugs , lighters, sailing barge and cargo vessel, likely around the1920’s. Condition is excellent showing no foxing, tears, damage or creasing plate or margins. The paper is both robust and pliable thus my option to mail rolled and wrapped in a secure postal tube. My photos are taken only in natural daylight. I do not digitally enhance the images because I try to ensure what you see, is what you get.
