Aloe ukambensis

Description: A very attractive species from Kenya, Aloe ukambensis typically forms single rosettes 2-3ft across, but will sometimes split into 2-3 heads. Leaves blush orange/pink/bronze when stressed. Inflorescences are nearly capitate and coned on the tips in early development. Flowers are deep red. Not common in the trade. This will make a great landscape subject in mild climates. Avoid frost. The seed grown plant in the 2.5" pot is the one you will receive. This plant will ship bareroot. This comprehensive upgrade covers the cost of the heat pack, as well as other shipping and handling costs. Shipping plants with a heat pack requires a slightly larger box, more insulation and more handling time than would otherwise be necessary. Their usage can add upwards of 7oz to the box. There are often extra logistics involved in monitoring regional weather and timing of shipments. One pack is typically adequate for a box less than 1 cu ft. but they are no guarantee far below freezing. They are inadequate for shipments of tender plants below 20 degrees outside. Supplies of these are limited so I'm reserving them only for customers expecting subfreezing conditions at the destination or enroute. Most west coast shipments, for instance, need not apply.
