Description: This is an Antique Edison Diamond Disc Table Model Mahogany Crank Player / Phonograph. PLEASE NOTE: The player is offer for local pickup ONLY. It is very heavy and we are not able to ship it.The overall maximum width and depth of the player represented by the outer rim of the lid are about 18 1/4" wide x 21" deep. The height is 19 1/2". The photos show one of the thick Edison diamond disc records on the turn table. This record is included with the listing, but since I am unable to play it, I do not know its condition and it is offered as found. PLEASE NOTE: Edison diamond disc records ONLY should be played on this player. Playing thin antique Victrola record or modern 33 or 45 RPM records could damage the needle and / or the records themselves. Condition Operation: I am not at all knowledgeable about these players. I was not able to remove the reproducer, but I cannot feel the diamond needle underneath so I assume it is missing so I cannot state how the record would sound if played. The crank appears to be slightly bent, but it can be unscrewed and re-screwed into play and it seems to wind the motor correctly. The lever on the front can be operated to start and stop the turn table correctly. The lever with the black bakelite (or similar) handle can move the position of the reproducer and raise and lower it, but since there is no needle, I cannot say for certain if that operation is completely correct.Cabinet The following issues were noted with the cabinet (some of these can be seen in the photos): As already noted, the crank may be slightly bent. The hinge on the lid is missing screws that need to be replaced, and you will need to evaluate if anything else is needed in that area. There is a fairly small patch of missing mahogany veneer on the top front edge of the lid as seen. The mahogany front grill is missing as seen. I do not know whether or not anything is missing inside or not. Record As already stated above, I do not know the condition of the included record. The player is offered as found / as seen / as described. Please visit our ebay store to view a wide variety of antique, vintage and contemporary items.
