This really interesting antique, probably made in Paris or Lille France, mid-1800's from 80 percent or more solid silver, consists of two pieces, a pedestaled cup with animal handle, and the perfectly fitting cover with a hole in the top where the wick, or perfume, if used as a scent diffuser, comes through. The rim of the cup and the cover are both hallmarked with a triad of fleur-de-lis (early sixteenth century French royal flag) and the number "3".The condition of the piece is fantastic.
