Description: This is a Art Nouveau period, brass wine jug or pitcher with lid. It was made in the early 20th century by the famous German manufacturer WMF.It has a slender, elegant shape with a flared base, decorated at top and bottom with a repeating, embossed pattern of stylized leaves and grapes.It has a long, angular handle in brass, with thumb press for the lid and a brass finial. As with all copper-bodied servers, the interior is lined with tin to make it safe for food use.It was made by the German metal ware manufacturer WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik). On the base is the maker's mark, a rhombus with a running ostrich. Above it is an impressed "106".In good condition with no leaksIt has a nice, even patina which catches the light with some colorful reflection.No scratches noticedA couple of small dents, modest - see pics they are part description - and general signs of wear form the yearsThe finial and the lid hinge work well with no noticeable issues however finial is slightly bent I would imagine its easy to bend back I haven't tried howeverThe tin lining is intact apart from some wear inside the lid35cm high (13.75 inches)16cm from spout to handle (just over 6.25 inches)11cm in diameter at the base (just over 4.25 inches)
