Selecting a Swarm TrapSwarm trap volume should be approximately 40 liters (about the size of a standard deep hive box.Provide a cover or other structure to keep the inside of the trap dry.The entrance of the trap should be 1 ¼ inches in diameter or 1 ½ to 2 square inches. The shape of the opening is not important. However, be sure to place 1/2 inch screen inside the hole to prevent birds from taking up residence.Entrance should be positioned adjacent to the floor of the hive. 2. Baiting the TrapAdd frames with foundation to your swarm trap.Put three to four drops of Bee Bait Swarm Lure on a cotton ball and place in a ziploc storage bag and close it partially. Set the bag containing swarm lure on top of the frames and secure with a tac.Place one or two additional drops near the entrance of the trap. Add more drops to the entrance once every few weeks. 3.
