Description: Offered for sale is a set of twelve fish plates and a serving platter. They are totally unmarked but appear to be of late 19th century manufacture, probably German or French. The plates are transfer printed in three differing patterns, each depicting sea fish, seaweed, etc., with a gold band of leaves around the perimeter. There are four of each. The plates measure approximately 9" in diameter and the platter measures approximately 10.75" x 16". One plate has a significant chip to the rim. The porcelain contains imperfections in the glaze that are original to the firing. They have a special charm but are not of the topmost quality. One plate has a lightly discolored hairline crack in the finish. There is a little loss of gold, but it is in mostly excellent condition. I suspect they have not been used extensively. Overall, they are in good antique condition and gave a relatively informal, charming feel to them, making them suitable to many different applications. Please see the photos for details. I guarantee satisfaction and will refund to a buyer upon immediate return, buyer to pay return shipping.
