Civil War Style DAY CAPS Your Choice of White Cotton Trimmed with Lace & Ribbons

Description: Fine white 100% cotton or 100% linen lace edged fanchon or kerchief style day caps. This style of cap was worn from around 1855-1865. A great variety of caps were described in the fashion magazines of the day such as Godey's and Peterson's. This caps are listed by ribbon color. If more than one cap is offered in a color option, please let me know which you want me to send. The ribbons are attached to the caps with a small safety pin. The ribbons can be replaced with a different color if you wish, just let me know. I would be happy to add bows to match your outfit, you may choose ribbons on both sides or hanging down the back....just let me know what color and if you want one or two! The caps are approximately 12 wide and 8" front to back. These are new caps, in perfect condition and has never been worn. The caps are listed by the color of the decorations, not the color of the cap. WHITECotton broderie anglaise with an embroidered scalloped front edge. The back is decorated with wide, white cotton floral patterned scalloped lace and small white satin bows. PINK Cotton broidery anglaise with unique oval designs. The cap is edged with a narrow front row and a wider back row of scalloped and ruffled cotton lace. Bows of gray pink satin ribbon topped with embroidered white lace leaf motifs decorate the sides of the cap. BLUE: White 100% cotton cap with a 2" lace edged self-fabric ruffle. The front edge of the cap is decorated with a 2 1/2" wide flat, scalloped edge lace. Each side of the cap has a small lace rosette with a tiny blue ribbon rose with green ribbon loops to form leaves. MULTI-COLORED:White cotton cap with three rows of crystal pleated ruffled sheer white trim. The front is decorated with 1 3/4" wide Venice lace with small round flower-like designs and open ovals, pink satin ribbon is run through the lace. At each side is a small bow of Kelly green satin ribbon. The green ribbons are attached with small safety pins and can easily be changed to any color you prefer. RED White 100% linen cap edged with wide ruffled eyelet lace across the back and narrower ruffled eyelet lace across the front. Small black grosgrain ribbon bows with red ribbon roses are attached to each side. FLORAL:White 100% linen cap with an embroidered design of pink and blue flowers with green leaves on the right side of the cap. The front edge of the cap is decorated with a narrow row of ruffled lace. The back of the cap is decorated with 4" wide floral lace.
