The helmet works very well both on and off trail. You can control the amount of air flow by adjusting the vents on the goggles and the muzzle. The best feature is the fold down muzzle. Rather than taking your helmet off, I would just use the quick strap to remove the goggles to the top of the helmet, and fold down the muzzle. Then I could get a snack or drink, or maybe just some air while sitting, all while leaving my helmet on. I did add a strips of velcro along the bottom of the helmet to help hold the chin curtain. The newer versions of this helmet have the velcro strips built in.
