Description: Dtd Antique 1911 Japanese Painting Heron & Iris Handwoven Willow Wood w/ Red Seal This antique watercolor painting of two herons or cranes in purple irises/reeds is in good condition. Not a scroll. Appears to be done on thin strips of woven wood. Dark border has a small split on RH side. Paper & lightweight board that it was found loosely mounted on has a tear at bottom (see close-up pic). From an estate in New Hampshire. Note written in ink at bottom "Mother from Frank, May 23, 1911". And also on the back with what looks like: "From "Walden Boston" made from willow wood by Jap(anese), 1911". Painting measures 4-7/8" by 18". Matt is 8-1/2" by 21". Not framed.
