Description: 1995 erotic drama Delta of Venus starring Audie England, Costas Mandylor, Eric da Silva, Raven Snow, Rory Campbell; based on the novel by Anais Nin, directed by Zalman King. The Story: An American writer living in Paris starts writing erotic fiction. With encouragement from her friends, her lover, and her publisher she gets involved in nude modeling and progresses to other forms of voyeuristic and participatory adventures. Comments: Delta of Venus is director Zalman King's adaptation of Anais Nin's book by the same name. It's 1940 Paris and young aspiring writer Elena begins a hot affair with smut author Lawrence. One night Elena catches Lawrence in the arms of another woman and leaves him. She supports herself as a nude model and begins writing erotica for wealthy male patrons. But she can't write about it until she experiences it first. The real-life characters on which this story is based are an interesting trio: Audie England (Elena) was Anais Nin, Costas Mandylor (Lawrence) was Henry Miller (author of Tropic of Cancer and Last Tango in Paris). Anais Nin also wrote Henry and June (June was Henry Miller's wife). All of these characters lived and loved and occasionally found time to write in 1930's Paris, right up until the time of the German occupation in January, 1940. New, factory sealed disc, case and label imported from Australia on recorded media. Per the label, the disc has both 99- and 102-minute versions of the film (rated and unrated). The film is presented in widescreen format. The disc has English audio and optional English subtitles. The DVD disc is Region 1, NTSC format, specifically designed to play on DVD players in North America. It may not play on a PlayStation or similar game device.
