Description: EDISON HORN PATENT PHONOGRAPHBEDPLATE DECAL Dry Rub Image Transfer For Cylinder Players PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY!! This is a dry transfer which is applied by placing decal in position on the applicable surface and then burnishing (rubbing vigorously) the back of the image with a pencil or pointed object which releases the decal from the backing and attaches it to the desired surface. The advantage of this type of transfer is the absence of any tell tale edge whatsoever. No need to trim, or use solvents to "melt" the edges. The decals are absolutely authentic looking and when applied properly, are almost indistinguishable from the originals. NOW, HERE IS THE CAVEAT. These are new old stock image transfers from Neil Maken's parts inventory and are quite old. They are somewhat stale and do not always transfer as expected. They sometimes stick to the backing if sufficient pressure is not applied. I have experimented with these and with trial and error, I have had good success with them by employing the following methods. You can heat the decal in the microwave for about 20 seconds. This seems to help release the decal from the backing and prevents partial transfers. However, this doesn't always work. Another method that I have had moderate success with is making the applicable surface slightly tacky with shellac or a light misting of spray adhesive. It takes a little work and finesse to make these work, but the results are spectacular when they do. I cannot offer any guarantees that you will be 100% successful, so please keep that in mind when purchasing. In order to make these less risky, I WILL ENCLOSE 5 DECALS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE. This will give you the opportunity to practice, or if necessary use several decals to make a complete one. Again, these are not for the clumsy, or impatient individual, as they take a bit of time and patience to apply. Good luck.
