How beautiful it is, but let's take a closer look at the quality: Estate grade, large finial topped, 18k solid gold (15.67g), Australian Opal pendant adorned with 35 brilliant white faceted diamonds (.38), 62 London Blue faceted topaz (1.75), 26 amethysts (.45) and a single 8.85c "Blow the roof off" Natural Black Opal with fire and play of color that is so striking, it is literally gasp-worthy. This tapestry of swirling watery fire opal boasts an N2 body tone and B5 Brightness rating. The best of the best. The opal by itself measures in at 20mm by 14mm with intense and bright fiery blues that whispers poetry in your ears, whiplashed with sea green, gold and red fire. In total, there is 11.43 carats of ultra fine natural gemstones that sparkle and wink at the slightest movement. The setting is a raised diadem which allows light to pour through underneath the gemstones. There are four 'turret style' corner finials done entirely of 18k gold and diamonds in the shape of the French regal papillon. These are ingeniously placed to protect its prize opal stone. There are two rivers of continuous curving gemstones in amethyst and London blue topaz that frame the pendant in a deliriously intriguing way, with a refined elegance that would make Louis Comfort Tiffany blush. The bail doubles as both a pass through and enhancer bail which opens up completely to clasp with a 'click and lock' mechanism (also 18k gold) around your favorite gemstone strands. It looks equally as stunning on a gold chain, but this piece warrants the versatility of a working enhancer bail, sparing no detail.
