Weyersberg’s expansion into Central America as business development and investment partners were the Deutsche Entwicklungsgesllschaft (DEG) of Germany, Adela Investments Company from Luxemburg, and a group of Central American investors – mainly Salvadorians. In 1987, a consortium of distinguished and diverse Central American business leaders acquired the company and actively directed plans for dynamic future growth, installing a new management team and providing significant capital investment.
