Brief History of the International Silver Company The International Silver Company was incorporated in 1898 by a number of independent New England Silversmiths whose family backgrounds began with the earliest American settlers. The story is that servants that couldn't afford a 'real' wedding ring would steal a silver spoon from their master and have it crafted into a ring. Criminal records allowed historians to determine when spoon rings began. By the 19th century Spoon Ring popularity waned but then it took off again during the 60's and 70's.
