It was published by Phaidon Press Limited, of Oxford, and is the 1988 FIRST EDITION (stated). This is an enchanting book which reproduces the twenty exquisite watercolours of birds, including the peacock, partridge, pheasant, grouse, and robin, which J. M. W. Turner painted for the Farnley Hall Ornithological Collection, and which are now owned by the Leeds City Art Gallery. The book was published for the exhibition Turner at Farnley – the Book of Birds held at the City Art Gallery, Leeds, from April – June 1988 and the Clore Gallery, Tate Gallery, London, from 10 October – 11 December 1988. The book measures 9.75 inches x 8.5 inches and has 64 pages (including illustrations). The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear to the similarly very good original dust-jacket (not even price-clipped!)
