Biography: Born in Germany, Gustave Wiegand studied at the Royal Academy and in Berlin and Dresden before coming to America. He exhibited, and won a medal, at the World's Fair in St. Louis in 1904, and later, a prize from the National Academy of Design. He was a member of the National Arts Club, the Allied Artists of America and of the New York Society of Painters. His work is in the collection of the Brooklyn and Newark Museums.
