Description: A wonderful LARGE late 19th to early 20th century oil painting of a monk enjoying an alcoholic beverage in a tankard; in the style of Von Grutzner. Unsigned; unsure who is responsible for this painting but it is really well done. Well presented in a contemporary gilt-effect frame (note some frame chip damage). On canvas board. There are a few light scratches on the surface of the oil. One small chip along center of right side. This is an estate piece. I obtained it just recently and know little about its provenience.
