LEONARD BERNSTEIN (1918-1990) rose to fame as the conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (1958-1969). The varied works of the versatile composer, conductor and pianist include the musicals On the Town (1944) and West Side Story (1957). His symphonies include The Age of Anxiety (1949) and Mass (commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for the opening of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in 1971). Bernstein also received an Academy Award for his score for On the Waterfront (1954). ANDR PREVIN (1929-2019) has made over 400 recordings as a conductor and pianist in virtually every field of composition, from symphony and concerto to chamber music and song. He has also served as the principal conductor for a number of prestigious orchestras, including the Houston Symphony (1967-1970), the London Symphony (1968-1970), the Pittsburgh Symphony (1976-1984) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (beginning in 1987) and the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (1985-1989) and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (1985-1986). As a film composer and arranger, he has won four Academy Awards (for Gigi, Porgy and Bess, Irma La Douce and My Fair Lady). Actress SHELLEY WINTERS (1920-2006) received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for A Place in the Sun (1951) and for Best Supporting Actress for A Patch of Blue (1965) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). She won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Diary of Anne Frank (1959). Her other memorable films include Lolita (1962), Alfie (1966) and Next Stop, Greenwich Village (1976). Winters made frequent appearances on Broadway stages and wrote two tell-all autobiographies. Worthy of further research. Stray ink mark at blank right edge, which is lightly shaded.
