Description: On offer are 5 off mounted prints of vintage shipping vessels. These are Original prints and quite rare. Prints are of: The ship DORUNDA - 1875 - 1894. A three masted ship built by William Denny and Bros, Dumbarton. Used on the British India Associated Steamers. The ship ARONDA - 1912 - 1939. Built on the Clyde by Alexander Stephen and Son. Used on the Calcutta / Rangoon mail run. The ship MODASA - 1921 - 1953. Built by Swan Hunter Ltd. Newcastle. Used on the East Africa / United Kingdom trade route. In her later years she ran between the United Kingdom and India. The Paddle Steamer RANGOON - 1875 - 1906. built by Scott and Co. of Greenock. Used for many years on the Tenassarim Service. She had 2 engines operating individual paddles. and finally the Brigrigged Steamship CAPE OF GOOD HOPE - 1856 - 1859. She was the first vessel despatched to the east by the newly formed Calcutta and Burma Steam Navigation Company. During 1857 she was under charter to Her majesty's Government transporting reinforcements to India. A lovely set of old coloured prints that once framed will display really well. Dimensions of the prints are approximately 23cm x 18cm. with the size of the mounts approximately 36cm. X 31cm.
