This Visconti fountain pen has never seen ink and is considered in New Old Stock Mint Condition, in its Presentation case and the documentation/warranty card.NOTE: The Forbidden City in Beijing, China, served as the exclusive residence of the Chinese imperial family for more than 500 years. Today, this elaborate complex of palaces and gardens stands as one of the greatest achievements in Chinese architecture and culture. Visconti pays tribute to this legendary site with a unique and captivating Limited Edition pen. Instead of a typical metal overlay on resin, the Visconti Forbidden City features resin that overlays a finely engraved metal base. This design creates a grid pattern reminiscent of the Forbidden City's layout when viewed from above. Within the grid are tiny sterling vermeil figures of mythical beings that hold significant importance in Chinese culture.This Visconti Forbidden City Fountain Pen is in uninked, mint condition with no wear, dings, dents, scratching, or repairs. The pen is made of blue mother-of-pearl resin. The trim is sterling silver with rhodium plating. The miniatures represented on the pen and power filler are sterling silver vermeil. The cap type is a "threaded" type that secures to the barrel every time. This fountain pen measures 6 1/8" capped, has a diameter of 17.85mm around the cap banding, and weighs 2.03 ounces. This fountain pen is a Limited Edition 361 of 888 and is marked on the barrel as seen in the photos.The nib is marked Visconti with 18K/750 Medium Two-Tone Nib. The nib has a Medium point measuring .82mm when using digital calipers. I have never inked this pen and wanted to keep it in uninked, New Old Stock condition for the next owner.This Visconti uses the patented "power-fill" plunger filling system. I tested it with water and fills as it was designed.The Fountain Pen comes with the original display box that you see in the images, the Visconti Forbidden City Literature, and the Visconti Warranty Card all of which are in excellent condition.The colors and workmanship on this fountain pen are a sight to behold. It is a spectacular example and a scarce writing instrument that makes a statement in one's Visconti collection! Again, this one is in Mint, Never Inked condition!
