NOAH HUNT SCHENK - AUTOGRAPH 11/01/1869 - HFSID 142396 NOAH HUNT SCHENK The Reverend signs and dates his name for 1869 Signature: "Noah Hunt Schenk/Brooklyn Heights/New York/November 1/1869", in black ink, 5x2¾. Noah Hunt Schenk (d. 1885) was a reverend for St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn Heights, New York, beginning his theological studies at the age of 30 after practicing law. He served at St. Ann's church for several years, and when the church faced closure due to a large debt, his son in law paid a large amount of the debt to keep it open, and under Schenk's guidance the remainder of the debt was raised. Schenk passed in 1885 from complications of an amputation and gangrene infection. Small, faint stains on top and left margin. Fine condition.
