Description: ARTIST: Unknown artist. Not much is to be found about this artist, although some believe that “O. Bromann” is a pseudonym for Aage Jessen (1876-1961), but since this is not officially validated, I’ll leave it at “O. Bromann”. PAINTING: Oil on board. The painting is a feel-good rendering of an old fisherman smoking a pipe and reading a letter, which he genuinely seems to enjoy. There’s an old cabinet and a marine painting on the wall behind him. On the back of the frame, there’s a sticker, which identifies the artist as “O. Bromann”. I’ll date it to somewhere between 1945-1960. Signed: Monogram: “OB” in the lower right corner. SIZE: With frame: 39 cm/15.4" * 33 cm/13". Without frame: 28 cm/11" * 22 cm/8.7". CONDITION: The painting is in great ready-to-hang condition - no holes, tears or missing paint. The frame has scratches and stains.
