Description: ORIGINAL 1800’s Canadian Militia Soldier’s Victorian Brass Two Piece Buckle belt. The leather is in Great condition for it’s age, leather is supple and not damaged, belt size is approx. 40 inches or a bit more fully adjusted. Has a standard Victorian Crown Two Piece Buckle as used on military belts of this era ( 1837 to 1902 ), this type of belt was worn from the Crimean War to the Boer War and in Canada from the Fenian Raids of the 1860’s, Northwest Rebellion and Boer War. No makers name that I can find, but someone has marked a 4 digit number with a Red Felt pen on the inside of the belt. Belt could be Canadian Militia or British Military, I did find it here in Canada in the previous century. NOTE: the Brass buckle is very well worn, with all it’s wear, it could easily date to the early part of Queen Victoria’s reign.
