Description: This is a classic Ameco AC-1 transmitter. Originally sold as a kit for novice ham operators, it can transmit on the 40m and 80m bands. These were so popular, you can now buy replicas! This is an original, and has been tested. I've re-capped the electrolytic capacitors and the paper capacitor (see photos) but retained the original ceramics which look to be in good condition. See the video for a simple test. The blue breadboard has a simple receiver (tuned/tank circuit and 1N34 detector diode) attached to the oscilloscope. The yellow wire serves as a short&simple receiver antenna.The black wire from the rear right of the AC-1 is the transmitting antenna. I note that the 6X5-GT rectifier tube is AMECO branded. The morse key will need a plug similar to the FT-243 (many people take an old FT-243, removing the crystal and modifying it to take wires) For shipping, I will remove the tubes, coil and crystal, so that they can be wrapped individually. The 6V6-GT does not have a polarizing tab, so I have marked with a spot of white paint on the socket where position 6 (the pin 'gap' on the 6V6-GT) aligns. I have a lot of smaller NOS items for sale (eg. germanium transistors). I can combine shipping, and a lot of those packages should ship for free with this transmitter.
