Description: FUSED GLASS SIGNED BY PEGGY KARR PEGGY KARR GLASS, the premier American designer of fused glass, combines techniques of the ancient Mesopotamians with contemporary designs to present color- ful and distinctive glassware for your home and table. The New Jersey studio fuses glass much in the same way it was done 3500 years ago. Vibrant colors are fired between layers of clear glass, a technique that seals and protects the design from wear and fading forever. Our artisans hand decorate clear, flat glass with brilliant enamels. A second layer of glass is then placed over the design. Set on a mold and kiln-fired to 1500F, the piece now takes on the shape of its mold and all the layers of glass and color fuse together to become one. The layering and fusing process results in rich surface texture and dramatic visual qual- ities including bubbles. Each piece has its own character and bears our signature. Peggy Karr Glass is decorative yet functional artware meant to be used and enjoyed. Our dishes are non-toxic and dishwasher- safe. (Hazing may occur due to hard water or harsh detergents.)
