Description: The pencil drawing offered here is a dynamic urban scene from New York City. The image perspective is down 32nd Street toward the Empire State Building looming above to the left and in the middle ground the lovely, still existent, Art Deco Gimbel's skybridge which was built in 1925. The skybridge was designed by the same architectural firm which several years later, in the early 1930s, designed the Empire State Building. Surely the artist knew of the connection. The artist has signed the piece in the lower right hand corner. Her name is Camilla Pulsifer. I have found only glancing references to her online, but she apparently came from Massachusetts and moved to New York City. If any eBayer has more information about Ms. Pulsifer, I would appreciate having it shared with me. Since the drawing is not dated, I can only guess at the date, but as the Empire State Building was completed in 1931, and it looks complete in this image, that establishes the earliest date. I expect that the piece was created in the 1950s. This drawing is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
