For sale: vintage Pioneer SPEC stereo components fully restored and in absolutely beautiful condition. Units are: -SPEC 2 amplifier (250WPC) (completely rebuilt and serviced - excellent cosmetic and functional condition) — scroll down for full service details. -SPEC 4 preamp (fully recapped and serviced -- excellent cosmetic and functional condition) -SG-9500 EQ (recapped and in excellent cosmetic and functional condition) -TX-9500ii Tuner (in excellent cosmetic and functional condition) Also included: (2) JA-R101 racks (restored; like new) The metal cases for all units, including the JA-R101 racks , have been powdercoated in a smooth black finish and are like new — all match. SPEC 2 SERVICE DETAILS: Basic recap and cleanup performed (including filter caps) Recapped boards include: Chassis – Filter Capacitors Replaced. AWR-093 — Power Supply Circuit Assembly AWR-045 — Power Amplifier Assembly (x2) AWM-081 — Meter Amplifier Assembly Idle current adjusted per procedure: 1. Left and right levels set to minimum 2. Left and right levels set to 30mV on start up 3. Left and right levels adjusted to 30mV after 30 minute warmup Current Limiter Sensitivity Adjustment 1. Impedance selector set to 8 ohms 2. 4 ohm dummy load attached (4 ohm required) 3. Adjustments made to upper and lower half of waveforms at point of distortion. Meter Amplifier Adjustment 1. Input level brought up to 44.7V 2. Right and Left meters adjusted to 0dB Rebuild left and right Power Amplifier Assembly 1. Recapped 2. All transistors replaced with Motorola (ON) (except the Q1 IC which tested good, still matched no leakage) List of new transistors: KSA992FBU Q2, Q3 MJ15032G Q4, Q5, Q6, Q12 MJ15033G Q7, Q13 KSA733CYTA Q8, Q11 KSC945CYTA Q9, Q10 KSC2383YTA Q20 UF4001 x3 UF4001 x4 3. STV-03 and STV-04 inoperable. Replaced with UF4001 x 3 and UF4001 x 4 and packaged on a heat sink with non conductive thermal epoxy 4. 4.7uf tantalum caps replaced with 4.7uf polyester film caps
