Description: Ironbottom Sound. The Guadalcanal Campaign. Unpunched. Complete. Excellent condition for it's age.Condition- The box on the back has a stain on the back probably old water damage perhaps. However the box is stillsolid and doesn't have any odors or anything like that. It did not effect any of the game pieces. It looks like it's complete as well.The game: A tactical simulation of the night actions between Allied and Japanese naval forces fought off the island of Guadalcanal in 1942. This long and bloody struggle saw more ship-to-ship action than any other one place in World War II and caused the sound off Guadalcanal to be renamed “Ironbottom Sound” because of the number of ships sent to the bottom there. Features include gun type, armor, range, radar, star shell, torpedoes, searchlights, and fires. Ten scenarios, eight of which simulate actual battles in 1942 and two of which, set in 1928, are hypothetical. Quarterdeck Games, 1981. Design: Jack Greene.
