Description: 1887, Queen Victoria's Jubilee year. Coins were enameled for use as pendants, stick pins, broches, and sold at various points for the celebration, for souvenirs. The Jubilee years were 1837-1887, and this piece is a Great Britain shilling from the Jubilee year 1887. The reverse has been enameled with light blue around the border, white around the band of lettering, and segments of the shield enameled with one in yellow, one in dark blue, and two in red. The piece shows very small marks on the enamel that indicated use and wear, but not enough to detract from the overall appearance of the piece. There is a hole at the 12:00 o'clock position with a split ring for wearing on a chain, or key ring etc. The reverse shows Victoria with the royal legend around the border and the Jubilee portrait. The portrait shows circulation, that most likely took place over the years after the celebration since it was dated the current year of the Jubilee.
