Tested...when I got home I hooked it into my system popped on an Lp and immediately discovered The stylus is mangled and unusable I did get sound from both channels from the Realistic R 27 ED cartridge. So a new stylus. Adjust tone arm, you should be fine. I personally would change the cartridge. I believe the realistic is an entry level piece. Both speed select and stylus control work. Heavy solid Direct Drive turntable should an EZ fix for hobbyist IMO an upgrade most turntables your likely to find
