What a truly lovely and rare find, I’ve never seen another and it is as rare and desirable and you could possibly hope forFully stamped on the engine turned case S.M&CO for the wonders that is Samspon Morden one of the finest silversmiths our country has ever known, a little further down the second set of hallmarks reads 9 on the side follows by 375 for 9ct gold, date letter q lower case in a circle, the closest match I can find is 1831 then the lions head for London and finally Asprey for the retailerThe removable extending propeller pencil on all three sections is stamped with the sideways 9 and then 375 again for 9-carat gold. If you remove the double sided score card which has holes 1-9 on the first side and 10-18 on the second then you reveal further hallmarks stating Asprey again and then a RD mark of 758547The condition is good used and with a lovely vintage patina, the pencil is out of lead but you can pick them up and have them fitted at normal pen shopsMeasures: Height 7.2cm Width 2.3cmDepth 1.0cmPlease note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please askAny questions please feel free to ask before you bid.
