Description: Red Wing Heritage Blacksmith Boots 8.5 D 8.5D Briar Oil Slick Cork Soles This is a nice pair of Red Wing Blacksmith boots with Vibram mini-lug soles and leather and cork insoles. The Blacksmith boot is the non-cap-toe version of the Red Wing Iron Rangers and has a more refined look, allowing them to be dressed up a tad more than the Rangers. The Black Prairie leather is a really high quality leather that ages with grace and grit as people love the various colors that reflect with wear and age. The best part about this leather is that it is a teacore, meaning that it is first dyed a light brown and then overdyed with black so that the light brown -- aka, teacore -- is revealed as the leather picks up scratches and scrapes. The leather and cork insoles will conform to your foot with each additional wear, another nice feature of the Red Wing Heritage line. This pair of boots is in good condition. However, because they are broken in, expect there to be a few nicks here and there. I have tried to photograph these from all angles; be sure to zoom in to each picture and inspect them for yourself; there are no major problems of which I am aware. Regarding sizing, I've recently concluded that, because of my very wide feet I need to wear 9 in Red Wing Heritage boots since I wear 9EE in most Allen Edmonds shoes. If you don't have very wide feet then the typical recommendation is to size down 1/2 to a full size for these boots compared to your normal shoe size. These have been stored in a smoke-free home.
