Description: The Reform Movement in China, 1898-1912 by Meribeth E Cameron, Stanford University Publications. University Series. History, Economics, and Political Science, Volume III, Number 1 (1931/1974 Reprint). Red cloth hardcover with white lettering (5.5x8.75”), 223 pgs including Index There are 3 parts to Volume III, each part by a different author and covering a different topic. This book is the first part, Number 1. Not all these parties are mentioned in this book, but it touches on a time when The Empress Dowager, the "Sung dynasty", Mao, Chiang Kai-shek, and more were in a swirl of history much too large and complex for any one book. But this book covers one element of a sliver of that momentous time. Condition: This is a solid, tight copy, but with these issues: The front cover coloring isn't quite totally uniform, which you can detect in the first picture, and there are hints of wear on the covers. There's a previous owner's bookplate glued inside the front cover. And in chapter II, and only in chapter II, there are light pencil markings either underlining text or in margins beside paragraphs. The last two pics show examples. I didn't try erasing the pencil markings. Please check over the pictures for more information about this book and the condition of this copy. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
