Description: Set of Six (6) Original 18th Century British and French Flintlock Musket Flints These flints were originally knapped (made) to military standards over 200 years ago in England, specifically in Suffolk County. A cache of them was discovered in Nepal, having been sent there sometime in the 19th Century. The flints that are amber colored were knapped in France at roughly the same time. Flints typically needed to be replaced after a few dozen firings, so soldiers made sure to have plenty at hand. These still function perfectly well in antique and modern flintlocks. They also make great "hands-on" props for school classes and other educational events. I will normally be picking these at random, but I can accommodate requests (All English. all French, etc.). They measure about 1" x 1 1/4". Note the volume discounts on both price and shipping!
