Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Souvenir badge issued for the 17th Annual Session of the United Commercial Travelers (UCT), held at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. This is commonly mis-listed as a Fraternal piece, as the upside down crescent symbol of the UCT is mistaken as a Masonic symbol (one such unattributed piece brought $150 Dec. 2021). The UCT was an association of traveling salesmen, or "drummers" as they were frequently called. The main drop is in the design of a $50 gold slug of the 1850's, and is similar to the 1906 Thompson's Restaurant pieces. Listed in the Bill Weber catalog as Weber-39 (Lot #10132); his was off-ribbon and realized $225. Drop and main bar are Uncirculated, ribbon shows some light wear and soiling, back pin is missing.
