Description: Forty seventh hardcover printing of The Common Law by Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. (Little Brown, 1923). The irreplaceable legal text on the practice, history and implication of Common Law in society. Not so much a written set of rules, but rather the basic morals and opinions which guide a society as a whole. A hard to find vintage copy in decent shape. Blemish o bottom left corner of back cover where tape or sticker was removed. Some chipping and general wear around the edges of jacket and rubbing/tanning to faces. Binding remains quite strong and spine is relatively straight. Blacked out writing on front endpaper and some underlining in red pen which seems to only occur in the first chapter or so of the book, otherwise pages remain clean. See photos for condition.
