These were designed for a large Police organization to be easily installed on any K, L, or N frame S&W revolver that had frame only size grips, (won't work with oversize target grips) without drilling by simply removing a grip panel, slipping it over the stock pin then replacing the grip, or it could be installed in any revolver by simply having a competent Gunsmith drilling & tapping a size 8/36 threaded hole in it, and simply screwing it in. High quality blued steel. May have VERY minor bin marks from storage.
