This lovely brass compact has a mirror, powder puff, and its original label. The lower part of the outside is covered with a bright gold-colored wiggly chain-mail-like mesh. Just use ZARI for your search term. Care, Repair, and a Loose Stitch: Almost all vintage and antique clutches will have some amount of toning and one or more loose coiled stitches. Try to keep the clutch out of constant air circulation to keep the sterling silver gilt thread from slowly toning darker over time. I suggest a zip lock type bag or wrapping it in tissue and boxing it up. You can also frame it in a shadowbox until you want to use it. Zari bags make wonderful art. If a metallic stitch is loose, you can tack it down with any thread that is the color of the background, i.e., black thread for black velvet.
