It has heavy hardware and is a very solid and quality piece.100% original period piece dating to the 1840s or 50s. This was a custom special order sword that at the time would have cost equivalent to 10s of thousands in today money. This is a top of the line sword of the time and truly a stunning heirloam. From my research this is one of only a handle of these that exist in the world! Very few were ever made to start due to the cost and even fewer are left today. This histoic saber is a must have for any highly advanced military or civil war era sword collector.
