Frequently, games listed as "1935" patent are not actually 1935 versions of the game as might be thought. The 1935 patent (1509312) was used on all versions of the game from late 1935 thru 1941; and the later patent (2026082) was added in early 1936 thru 1952. Any game which only shows the 2026082 patent is a post 1941 edition of the game. Furthermore, most years of productions had multiple editions for the year! This game is dated to early 1936 due to the dual patent on the box and board, and the phrase "Reg U.S. Patent Office Copyright 1935 by Parker Brothers, Inc." on the box and board. It is also the first "Blue Box" edition produced in 1936 and has the smaller Blue Box money. Additional very desirable features are the Chance and Community Chest cards which have only simple wording on them without graphics and with nothing printed on the backs. The Charles Darrow copyright 1933 game board is a relatively rare and very sought after board which is quite desirable to collectors, since Parker Brothers phased that board out relatively quickly. Also note on the instruction sheet (which is quite fragile and in 3 segments as pictured) that the title photo on the directions actually still shows the original Darrow Type 2 money in the photo and not the Parker Bros. money included with the game.
