Description: Gorgeous vintage silk scarf from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, circa 1970s-1980s, which belonged to my mother. The piece, which features a Japanese motif with crickets, is based on a Kimono that was donated to the museum from a private collection. The pattern is printed on both sides of the scarf, which is in very good vintage condition. There are no stains or discolorations, but there are several pinprick holes in the silk, perhaps where my mother fastened the scarf with a brooch. The original tag was removed long ago, but I found a scarf with the identical design which just sold on eBay and include a photo of that label with country of origin and care instructions. The scarf measures 13 inches wide by 50 inches long. With its soft neutral colors this lovely silk scarf would be a great addition to your fall wardrobe, but it can be enjoyed all year long.
